The house looks so very different in each of your shots but is it the house having a personality, or your great skill in showing it in differenet lights?

Annie, as you may know, I'm a colour kind of guy. And, although these colours are lovely and the compo etc. is terrific (as usual), for some reason or other this shot is screaming for b&w. I think it's because of the high contrasts in the building.
Did you try a b&w version?

First I have to say I second your opinion, I also have some trouble arranging my thoughts in english and throwing myself in a discussion.
But I sure hope respect and joy keep TL going.

This is a picture that works great in B&W but I don't like it in B&W - I like this one.
The lines of the land are followed by the lines of the clouds and I know you can feel energy from a house and see a caracter, that in the past has stopped me from buying a certain house and made me live happy in a less beautiful one.
The old weathered wood and the setting provide you with another stunning picture.

Je te reconnais bien dans les sentiments que tu ressens pour cette cabane. Elle semble être un éternelle refuge. C'est certainement le rôle que celui qui l'a bâtie lui avait donner. J'ai même la sensation que les nuages s'arrêtent d'avancer comme s'ils ne pouvaient pas passer cette frontière :O).
Belle ambience grâce à la lumière rasante, les deux lignes diagonale formées par la perpective, celle des nuages et celle de la falaise, donne encore plus de pouvoir à ta composition. Tout semble toujours parfait avec toi, bravo!

Hello Annie !

Cette petite maison de Ruisseau-à-Rebours, on ne l'oublie pas (^_^). Du beau travail avec ton polarisant pour bien mettre en valeur les blancs et textures au sol comme au ciel. C'est très bien que tu es gardé un aperçu de la façade pour un meilleur effect tri-dimensionel. ( surtout avec ce cadre )

Personnellement , je préfère la version couleur, Plus de punch et de contrastes. Mais ce n'est que mon opinion.

I think of all my favorite subjects, old abandoned houses and barns are my favs. There is a story there, we will never know the whole story, and that is what makes it so nice!..we can wonder! LOVE this...the white on the house is a real eye catcher! LOVE the old weathered look here. The land just leads your eye right up into it! Marvelous work!

The compo here is very good (he clouds almost work has a replica of the ground, and the house is very well posicioned.
However what I love more is the way you've captured the light. The shadow in the white of the house is simply superb. Congrats, you are realy a great photographer.

I did a workshop for you..if you use the channel mixer and decrease the blue while increasing either the red or green channels, you can preserve more of the shot...I hope you like it.

Hello Annie,

Simple, but very effective shot. Very good detail of those houses. Cloud formation is adding beauty. The most interesting thing is; Cloud and land are parallel to each other. But still the land gives feeling of looking downward, wheareas the cloud is upward.

Nice shot, and well presented. Since you directed me there - "before dandelions" is, IMO, the pick of the bunch!

Never underestimate naive thinking - it's just thinking without assuming 40,000 other things in advance - and it's these assumed "facts" which, in my view, limit our possible conclusions - often to our detriment.

Very nice composition here, Annie. Simple yet so beautiful. Love the rich colors and fine details. Love the cracking of paint on the wall, giving a tactile sense. POV and framing is very good. Timing of the shot is perfect because of the light and shadow registered, with very good exposure, make a wonderful and dramatic scene.

Vraiment une très belle photo, des 3 présentations je crois que celle-ci
est la plus jolie. Les détails comme la composition, les nœuds sur les
planches, les nuages et le bleu sont exceptionnels.
À prime abord moi aussi j'ai pensé N et B, mais ici le résultats est
discutable, peut-être en n&b avec une légère teinte sépia....

J'aime bien cette image toute simple dans sa compostion mais dont chaque élement possède son importance. L'avant plan jaune nous fait entrer dans l'image. La cabane typiquement de notre histoire nous localise au Québec et plus particulièrement dans nos campagne. Le fleuve à l'arrière nous indique que cette campagne se situe loin des grands centre. Finalement cette belle bande de nuages vient meubler un joli ciel bleu qui empêche le regard de s'échapper vers le haut. Un très beau travail de composition qui pourrait inspirer plusieurs artistes peintre. Bravo et merci de partager tes images.
