St. Catherine's Under a Texas Sky
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
It was my first full day in Montreal, and I intended to see as much as possible. I walked down McGill College Avenue, and was waiting for the light to change so I could walk down Rue St. Catherine. The street was so full of activity that I snapped this shot. I was disappointed when I looked at it later, because the sky was massively overexposed (see original in workshop), so I decided to replace the sky.
I masked off the sky from the rest of the image, replaced it with a blue sky and clouds from Houston, TX (details in workshop), and then sharpened and resized the image before uploading. |

Your workshop was superb with great detail. I really like this photo, especially with the new, improved sky.
I like your added sky, Michael. You just have to wait a few days, and eventually, you'll get one like in Texas! Great colours as well in the buildings. What strikes me in this photo are the cars waiting for the traffic light, like at the start of a Formula 1 race. So, I did a workshop to emphasize it. Hope you like it. Great job!
Hi Michael,
Nice shot. Just an average touristy day for them, I'm sure. Good composition. I like how you also got the people in. Wonderful pp work. The sky looks a lot better now.
Keep up the good work!
Richard
I've taken to using the sky enhancement too, in numerous shots, always noting it in my comments when I do. It sure does help the quality of photos, doesn't it. I can't wait to be there myself, in just 6 weeks!

Good PP work! Everything is so sharp all the way to the end of the street. The colors are good too.

This is a very good photograph. I can almost feel the tension in the "rush hour." The sharpness of the photograph is awesome. Everyone is busy going about their buainess. Good composition, great capture.
