The forth in a series of shots from a Pow Wow that I had the pleasure of attending. As I mentioned in the first one, it was really hard (for me) to capture the action and still get a reasonably sharp shot. I trashed the majority of the shots I took that afternoon!

I wanted to show at least one of the dancers in action. This might be one of the best I got. Technically and compositionally I know it could be better .. more space in front of him, a little more space above him so his feather wasn't cut off, but .. as I said, this was a challenge for me.

Too bad about the number on his costume, but this was after all, a competition as well, so it couldn't be avoided.

Sharpened, contrast and saturation boosted, framed ...

Please be honest with your critiques .. I can take it :) I'd be happy for any tips on how I could be more successful next time in capturing not only the action, but also dealing with the difficult light of a huge arena.

Hello Trudy,

I understand your problems but this is a fine shot for details and action. I love these costumes and you have provided some fine details of colour and decoration.
I would have like a little more space in front of the dancer; he feels a little constrained. Otherwise, fine.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Trudy,

This is a great action shot of the dancer in his colorful costume. As you've mentioned, it would be good to have some space in front of him to dance into, but this isn't bad. It's difficult to get the "just right" action shot. TFS

Warm regards,
Werner

Hi, Trudy,
aside from what you mentioned about the room in front, this is a great shot. There are so many colors and so many details and you did a fine job of getting them. Excellent light and exposure, nice sense of movement. Shoot, that's a fantastic shot. Wow. Many thanks and warmest regards,
Shelly

Hi Trudy

Another fine entry in this series with good dynamism, suggesting movement, yet still with great sharpness. Superb colour & framing. Have a nice weekend!
