A view of the 's' shaped Bow River, snaking through the pine & fir forest far below. Taken from one of the 3 lookouts near the Hoodoos. The cyan colour of the water is natural & caused by 'rock flour', from glacial meltwater.

"Tunnel Mountain Drive
To really enjoy this trip, you are urged to get out of the car at the viewpoints along the way. From its start at the intersection of Banff Avenue and Buffalo Street, this 9 km drive takes you to a viewpoint overlooking Bow Falls and the Banff Springs Hotel, up the side of Tunnel Mountain with views over the Bow Valley, then on to Tunnel Mountain Road. Turn right at Tunnel Mountain Road to enjoy viewpoints of Mount Rundle, the Bow Valley and the Hoodoos. Trails lead from these viewpoints back to Bow Falls. The road continues on to join the main road into Banff."

Or you can do what I did, & catch the local bus back along Tunnel Mountain Road.

Hi Chris,

The curves of the Bow river are assets to the composition. It is leading my eyes toward the mountains which is giving depth to the photo. The trees are framing well the river. The quality of the light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Pierre

Hi Chris,

A wonderful landscape with the curvature of the Bow river nicely captured. The high lookout provided an excellent POV. TFS

Hi Chris,
A lovely landscape.
The winding river leads you
into the depths of the valley.
The splash of orange around the
river looks great. A perfect
POV to capture all this details.
Regards.
Janak

Hello Chris,

The tall trees make a natural impediment to seeing the whole river but you have chosen a good viewpoint to make as much of it visible as possible.
The trees in the f/g, flecked with sunlight, give a nice contrast with the darker, more upright trees in the m/g. The azure river curves leisurely between them, producing a gentle lead to the rugged mountains in the b/g.

I might have been tempted to crop a little sky to make the l/h mountain nearly emerge from the t/l/h corner.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)
I hope you've managed to tame those littlies in your class!

Wonderful pov of this beautiful part of Canada Excellent composition I love the colour of the glacier water The details and clarity are also excellent TFS
warm regards
David

Hey there Chris,
What a view! Ha, kind of reminds me of Ansel Adams work....
Excellent contrasting and flowidity of colors. The detail is striking, and the water is very beautiful to look at. The clouds look very interesting as well in the background.
TFS,
Leanne
