This is Upper Arrow Lake in British Columbia, by a small town named Nakusp, population 1,700. Nakusp is located on the shores of Upper Arrow Lake in the Selkirk Mountains in south central British Columbia. It is situated in a valley surrounded by spectacular mountains, clear lakes, rivers, streams and breathtaking scenery. Some 3000-5000 years ago three main Indian tribes came into this area - the Shuswap from the Okanagan, the SolvilIe from Washington and Kutenai from the East Kootenays. The first white man on the Arrow Lakes was Finan McDonald, one of David Thompson’s men, in August 1811. The first post office, the first store and the first sawmill opened in 1892. The Nakusp Ledge, the first newspaper, was published on October 5,1893 - the first church opened its doors in 1898. The first school opened in 1895 with an enrollment of 9 in the one room. Power arrived in 1920 along with the first volunteer fire brigade. For history enthusiasts, you can go to http://www.nakusp.com for more info.

Beautiful shot of a beautiful place. I just don't like the frame...

Picture postcard perfect Sam, great vibrant colours with good composition and point of view. TFS

Hi Sam,
Beautiful place!Nice view and great colors.
I don't like the red in the border.:)
Thanks
Fernando

beautiful landscape sam and you captured it well.. but this frame drives me mad, instead of dreaming myself away to this far far away place i feel very tense.

Amazing landscape Sam, excellent captured, I like the composition, colours and relax shot, I think your red border is over powering your shot thoug... :) Thanks for sharing

We are heading there ourselves in a week's time Sam - thanks for whetting our appetites! Love the scene but the red frame is something of a distraction.

Hi Sam

A superb landscape, of this attractive mountain lake. I like the reflections in the water, & the tongue of land on the left. Well done!

Well composed landscape photography...beautifully captured. Everything seem so peaceful.

HI Sam,
Such a wonderful place you shot here. Very nice POV, well composed image and nice colours. Light is great and you did well.
The only thing is that you image is a bit tilted to the left...
I did a ws and I hope you don't mind.

And i think, and that's just MHO, the frame is a bit too colourful it fights with your subject. But that's a quation os taste.
Well done

take care, Stef

Excellent scenic shot Sam
The sharpness and colors are amazing and your frame is perfect for the image
once again a great shot.
thanks for sharing

What a view, well done on this capture and composition.

Now listen closely, invest in a Circular polarizer, you'll thank me later eh?

Mike
