This is a spider web that I found around my house. Although the spider was nowhere to be found you can clearly see that my friend is very scared of those little creatures. It looked very clean, so the owner must have been away or sleeping somewhere. I'm always impressed to see the details and the complexity of any spider web. Close your eyes for a second and picture yourself being no bigger than a fly and getting trapped into one of these. How would you feel?
My friend's answer was:"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!"

Excellent note ! Bravo !

Richard, the spider web is well-captured. But what makes this shot even better is the inclsuion of your friend in the BG. Great concept.

Usually one sees web photos taken in the morning or glistening with dew, so a night time shot makes this more interesting. I thought it would have been amusing if your friend could have moved over a step or two. He would have had his head positioned in the gap to the right of the picture. It might have appeared as if his head had been caught in the web. Thanks for sharing and your photo, notes and comments.

You enjoy frightening your friend, poor guy, instead of offering him a beer, he had to assist for your scary pic ;o)
Very well seen, and nicely composed. I like the trapped friend in the background also. On a way it is sexy ;oD just kidding!
I am really amazed by the 360 degree symmetry of the net, very skilled spider!

Bravo

Hola estimado Richard: Wow, excellent details captured in the spider's web, super, perhaps (and only for curiosity) I would want your friend to come closer a little more toward the right, (to see his face through the space in pentagon form), but I understand the situation perfectly. And well, I close the eyes and I sit down as if me to be able to fall in a deep abyss (a galaxy) and to feel finally caught in the center of kind of a black hole. Cordial greetings. *Ninfa Urania*

Excellent focus and detail,a great idea and result.
Very good work,well done.

It is wonderful, such a beautiful web on my screen, what a work of the spider, isn't it. And the addittion of your friend is very well chosesn, Richard.

Note bien faite.

A beautiful web on the world wide one. I like the contrast between the black background. But I think it is a missed chance : you should have captured your friend's face through the big whole that happened to be there... or was he afraid to step to his left a bit ?

The details are superb! I like very much how the web is highlighted over the black background.

Excellent shot Richard with a good note, like the symmetry of the web , icredible such a tiny creature can create such a art..

Hi Richard, well done on an excellent composition, this is really a great shot, because spider webs are not easy to photograph, but you have captured it perfectly, yes the detail is so perfect.

Well done, and thanks for sharing this pic with us.
::M::

Oh, this is really well done Richard. Good sharpness. I have tried this a number of thimes but there has never been enouhg light. I can't help but wonder what this would look like in the morning, with some backlight provided by the rising sun and the mist still present as tiny droplets on the web...Realy well done.

Bravo!

Dear Richard, I like how you made that web visible with using the flash. It looks like your friend is thinking about becoming the next spiderman :)
Yours, Jan

When I owned a just built new house once, I had an covered area by the front door with two huge posts. Every morning I would rush out in my night clothes to grab my newspaper in my yard...hoping no one would see me.... (aiming for the door is just beyond the paper boy's goals). Every day a web stretched from pillar to pillar, and caught me. Out would rush a huge brillant yellow spider, big as a golf ball. I would have wrapped flies caught in my hair, and clothes, webs are so sticky. Next morning once again I would forget, his web was so fine, hard to see, and I would scream when I found it wrapped around me. It was at least 6 ft. across.... Wow, I bet he told his spider freinds, "you should have seen the one that got away"! lol! This is a true story!

Bravo.

This is a fantastic view of a spider's web with a nice touch of the a human element.
Well done, Richard.

I put a pic in your theme If I Were A ....
Take a peek if you have time.

I don't believe I have opened this one up before. Now I see why it is such a topscorer. It's the guy in the background. There are plenty of webs around here - but none with people in them. This must be one of the most succesful flash shots on TL - and deservedly.

Well, Richard, I'm gonna be the one who puts you "over 60 points" on this great photo. Now that I have done this for you, please tell me how you captured this web so perfectly at night? All has been said and I can only add my "WOW" to it.... :O)

Bien vu.

Hi!
Nice picture with good sharpness and good contarst between fg and bg.I would like it more with a spider in the middle of the web...
