[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
90 m above the sleepy town of Amecameca some 60 kms from Mexico City lies Parque National Sacromonte.The park protects an important pilgrimage site built over a cave that was the retreat of the Dominican friar Martin de Valencia in the early 16th century.Up from the sanctuary along the bluff are wonderful views of the town below and there is a very interesting cemetery with old graves .Took several pictures there one of which i have preferred to the others thus titled 'A grave with a view '.

Hi Carol,

It was you!! :D The title is so appropriate for the photo. Wouldn't it be interesting to know the story behind the person in this grave. I like the contrast of the grassy area surrounding the grave and the stark buildings below with no room for greenery at all!

Very nice shot. The sacromonte is really an interesting place, not only the cemetery but also the tree where all the offerings are hung. I haven´t been there for years and from your photo I can tell it has extended quite a bit. It is amazing our capacity to "eat" the land with cement.

j'aime beaucoup cette image, elle est pleine de symbolisme. le point de vue est original, c'est bien trouvé. par ailleurs l'image présente aussi un rapport de profondeur de champs.

Bonjour Carol
Étonnamment, la pollution n'y semble pas pire que le voile vu du Mont Royal!
En voilà un, haut perché au premier plan, qui est bien placé pour avoir la nostalgie de toute cette activité au bas!!
Quelle belle juxtaposition si joliment encadrée par les silhouettes.
