It's a cover photo for a novel, without a doubt.
Very nice effect Amy. Great result, particularly hand-held. The B&W works well.

Hello Amy,
What a lovely night shot. The softness is perfect. I really like the water texture and the clouds are beautiful. That tiny spec of light on the horizon is interesting. Gald you enjoyed your cruise and it is good to see you back safely. TFS

Hi Amy - tough to get a shot like in night. You have come out with a pleasing result.. rather magical in its glow and feel. The clouds are special here.

THe moon is so lightfull as a sun! Not a big surprise about it.. 6 seconds for the moon is enormeous! :)
I'm surprise about the sharp of it for a 6 second expo. Youre in a cruiser and the moon have shurely a small movement of waves!
It's beautifull mood we have here! It's a great scene!

Great posting, Amy.
Maybe it was a good thing you dídn't have the tripod.
The blurry sea gives a special mood to it all.
Groet,
Joop.

Welcome back Amy and glad to hear you had a great time. This picture has a very surreal feel like the water was just a piece of paper you had added afterward to make us believe you had really been on a cruise!!! Very nice composition and nice tonal range. Quite creative in your tripod improvisation. Well done!

I didn't know that the moon had a ring! Fantastic image, the kind of photo that could become your best cruise souvenir. Very nice light, and the added softness is a bonus.
Welcome back!

Wow - amazing Amy! I didn't realize you were going on a cruise. We're leaving for one on Sunday! RC, going to the western Caribbean, so you've just whetted my appetite even more, not that I needed any encouragement!
I tried to capture a shot like this on the lake when we were camping once, but it was just too shaky. It just takes your breath away, doesn't it - moon on the water? Incredible!

Amy!
I understand you very well. My best memories I had them sailing at sea in the late 70's and early 80's. Full moon night at sea in the Caribbean sea, nothing like it! I traded in these waters for ten years! Swett mmeories.
Well done , and realised. Do you remember if it was a lighthouse we see on the horizon on the right.
TFS,
Robert

Amy,
Stunning is an understatement. This is one of the best B&W sunset's a camera will ever capture. Great work with the composition and the sun. I like it very much!

I think the soft focus works. The water looks like it is in motion.. which it would be.
I like it, A romantic place to be...
