... the station .The station is Copilco , it is at the eastern entrance to the University of Mexico , the mural we see here is only a small fragment of the work that covers the whole wall of the station and is by Guillermo Cenicero, painted in the 1980s .This is one ,if not the most interesting subway station of the 175 that Mexico City has . A short note concerning the Metro system here : It is the fourth busiest subway in the world with 3.9 million passengers riding it on an average weekday ! At 20 cents a ride it is also one of the world's cheapest .It is user friendly and the quickest way to get around the city. We even used it to go from and to the airport! Can be crowded beyond imagination during rush hours even platforms are alarmingly packed solid but outside the busiest time it runs quite smoothly !
My contribution to this Friday Theme ,
Iso 200 , f/4 , handheld at 1/3 sec , little was done in PP , light curves adjustments , sharpened ,frame and that's it ,

Hi Carol,
wow - that's impressive with that fantastic painting in the back - this crazy face with the open mouth - and the beautiful colours, it's a wonderful action-shot, thanks

Hi Carol
With such heavy usage you were lucky to get an almost clear platform. I like the painting and also noticed that like all other subways I have ridden the also have a line so you "mind the gap". Managed the lighting situation perfectly.

How you did this handheld for 1/3s is really quite a feat to get this sharpness. You were pretty close to the train for this nicely composed view. Good use of existing lighting for the cast of shadow of train front and the tracks.

Bonjour Carol.

Amicalement
Pascal-Eric

Man, you must have a steady hand ! :-)
" As it is " I do like the photo :
good compo, light, etc ...
For me, that man waiting gives it all

Not a " but "
but do you take others when the train was in motion ?
It would have make a difference.

Don't you worry :-)

Jan

Carol:
Me encantó la composición de esta foto y el colorido del mural y del vagón. Felicidades
