[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A Spanish tradition enjoyed equally in Mexico, the bullfight is practiced as a form of art. The Matadors arrive in colourful costume to much fanfare. A brass band plays seated in the stands to trumpet each event. This custom is no doubt contoversial outside of Spain and Mexico, and it is difficult to argue that there is no cruelty to the Bull. This 15 year old Matador struggled to kill this bull in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, stabbing the animal in the back countless times before changing tactics and trying to dispatch the Bull by stabbing through the back of the neck, presumably to sever the spinal cord and afford the beast a promt death. In this case the animal was stabbed numerous times before finally dropping from exhastion and hypovoliemia. The Matador then, assisted by other Matadors in the ring, finnished the job.
