What an interesting picture for sure! I really like the layered calendars for sure. You have done a great job of capturing an interesting object to look at for sure! Thanks for sharing.

Hi Sunil

An interesting shot of the Mayan souvenirs, in the marketplace, with wonderful warm colours & good repetition. Perhaps a little more fg sharpness? I like the shallow dof. Tfs!

Ciao Sunil

Ah .. I love these artifacts,
I am fascinated by culture and
art left by the Mayas.
A beautiful piece of vision and
definition of beautiful image!
the main points of Mayan
Sun and moon.
Greetings my friend ...

Sergio

Nice picture of the mexican local crafts elaborated for the tourists. However, only for complete your note: the solar disc that appears 5 times in your image is a representation of Tonatiuh, the Aztec solar deity, carrying calendárics signs of its annual cycle. It is aztec not Mayan. In the first plane a representation of a eclipse of sun and moon of European tradition is appraised and with indigenous elements like the maize-cobs and indigenous prehispanic faces.
In the left corner superior a mud representation of Yaxchilan's Lintel 17 is appraised. Yaxchilan was a pre-Hispanic Mayan city that was developed during centuries V to the VIII in the zone of the Usumacinta river in Chiapas.
Back of the images of the Aztec Tonatiuh almost hidden appear the representation of two calendáricas wheels with the signs of the Mayan months. Of left to right they are possible to be read: K'ayab, 'Kumk'u, Uayeb, Pop, Uo, Zip, Zotz and Zec.
Greetings :)
