Monuments of a lost culture

The stone pillars of Plaza of Thousand Columns at the Mayan city of Chichen Itza. Rising in the background is the Temple of the Warriors where human sacrifices were done. Historians and archeologists say that the first Maya societies were very peaceful but towards the latter stages of their existence, they were extremely violent, perhaps due to Toltec influence.

Very good subject with good b/w to increase the mood. Just a little too dark for the shadow

Muy buenos tonos, me gusta. :)

Hi Sunil,
Wow, I missed this one. An amazing beautiful architecture.
I like the B&W presentation and the atmosphere it gives. TFS.
Joop!

Sunil:
I specially like the harshtones of BW, very good image. Just one thing, Chichén Itzá is in the state of Yucatán not Quintana Roo.
Congratulations
MJ
