Sitting on the beach minding my own business when this HUGE crab comes along and looks at me.

So I took his picture.

The rocks you see are sand pebbles. Very fine sand pebbles.

This thing was about 2cm wide including the legs.
Not much meat in those legs for a decent lunch.

PP: cropped, resized, sharpened and framed.

Hello to those of you that are just looking.
And HELLO and THANK YOU VERY MUCH to those of you that take the time to leave critiques/comments/workshops :-).

Hoi Piet!
Great shot of this enormous creature :-)
So you were in the Yacatan! Do they still speak about a huge white Dutchman which eat a lot of tortillas and drinking Corona beer?
Anyway a fine posting my friend.
Hans

Salut Pierre,
Amicalement ,Carol

Salut Pierre
Nice to hear from you and hope your vacation was everthing you hoped for. I just hope you are not bringing back this fellow in your luggage, you know how easy it is to do so. :-))
A good shot of this very colorful crab looking like he is ready to attack.

He is so very tiny, Pierre, but he looks so big. Great job of capturing this little fellow so well, given his small stature. The fine grains of sand on his body make one think he could be coming after us. Lovley composition and interesting subject. Bravo.
Amitiés sincères

Pierre are we getting old! Your first photo being an eight legged creature instead of two? :} Good shot of this tiny creature! Hope you had a great vacation! I am busy with our kitchen now. Don

Hello Pierre
he is so cute! Happy you did not use the flash like I did! I agree he does not look like a very satisfying meal!

Tricia

He probably was hoping to take a chunk out of your leg...but instead got a head shot! Nice details, seems the focus is more on the rocks that his little head, I assume you zoomed in, which creates havoc with DOF..anywho...very nice, wish'n I was there!

Your Crab is no crap :-)

Rob

Welcome back Pierre. He looks similar in size to a freshwater crustacean on the mainland here, unless hand fed you need 20 litres of them to make a meal for one. Excellent focus, colour and definition and TFS,
David

Many thanks for your comment on ‘Chicago Peace’

Hi Pierre,
Very good capture and details of this little crab, ready to attack!

Bonsoir Pierre :)

Bravo!
Lise

Hello Pierre

well you would think this little devil would be more careful than to creep up on you on holiday.. Littledid he know he was about to become world known lol

Superb macro here my friend I am so glad you took the camera with you :-)
No snow in Mexico then :-)

TFS regards Helen

Bonjour Pierre,
joliment capturé ce petit crabe,
bien joué,

Armel.

Pierre, you can't have it all: Sun, Beach, Relaxation, warm weather PLUS a crab meal? For good crab you have to go to Alaska, but I doubt you could bask in the sun on a beach there right now......
Good steady hand on the trigger here to make what seems to be a macro shot.
Cheers
Otto

Salut Pierre,

Amicalement.
