[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The view from the top of the main pyramid at Chichen Itza. The ancient Mayan city is surrounded by jungle as can be seen in this shot.
To the left of this amazing building is a short walk to the well where it is said that the Mayans would offer sacrifices to the gods and throw people into the wells. It is now known that these wells (which appear relatively commonplace in the Yucatan Penninsula) are part of a great fresh water course that supplies water to the lush green jungle.

Original image has been cropped slightly and thin border applied. Moments after taking this shot, a gust of wind blew my hat off so I ended up chasing it down the pyramid and across the grass that you see in this shot. I did get it back eventually..!

Hi Dai,

Great pov showing how not only large the buildings are but how small the city is in comparison to the surrounding jungle. Good colours nice dof and sharp details make this a great shot well done.

Regards
Jon
