[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Yucatan Peninsula is flat as flat can be. So in order to get some shots from above, well you have no choice than to climb on top buildings or fly.

So on this afternoon, on our way back to the beach , I climb the stairs of one of the bungalows to end up on the balcony with a view on the beach. Here we are looking North.( see the map to see from which bungalow ) As you can appreciate , it was a windy day. A lot of salt and humidity in the air. Therefore the resorts in the background (coupled with the narrow DOF) are not very sharp. The surfer was at least 200 m away from my position. I am not too happy with the colors, namely of the sky, but it is the best I could get. I wanted to capture the various tones of the sea. Depending on the sea bottom and cloudiness, various tones are providing a cool mosaic of colors. I wish I could have a closer view of our surfer , but I was already at 300mm focal. Instead of the vertical shot , I kept the horizontal composition to get the surfer's trail on the water surface.

Hi , Robert. I think you were successful in getting the main focus the kite and the surfer. The green and blue tones of the sea although blurred are well represented and do not distract from the theme. You cannot get everything in photographs. good post. Cheers.

Beautifully captured and composed, the colours across the water are certainly eyecatching and the presence of the kite surfer is that added element that gives the shot kick. Nice frame.

Adrenaline rush all right!! I doubt that I would be brave enough to try this.
Well, you might not be very happy with the sky color, but I think the water color makes up for it ... love the variations of color in that beautiful emerald water. Nice composition also.
Looks like a place where I could dig in my heels and stay for a good long time:)

The colors are simply amazing! I've never seen anything like this. Simply gorgeous colors in the ocean. Very peaceful setting! The surfer's sail gives a bit of different color to the scene.

les dégradés de couleurs sur cette mer sont superbes.
L'apparition de ce wind-surfer rajoute du dynamisme à l'image tout en y incluant une touche de couleur contrastée.
