[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
As mentioned on a previous post , I really had a bad time on that day to capture decent shots with the blazing sun during a cloudfree day. Here is another one with a wider view. Despite the Overexposed area at the top , I wanted to show you the full height, so you can appreciate more the perspective and size of the cenote. You can see a few silhouettes watching down.

Technically : I wanted to capture as much as possible the colorful basin with a glimpse of the outside. The people were diving on my right side, to come across the photo and the steps to get out were on my left. Note the relatively slow shutter speed. Despite that the shaded areas are still pretty dark.

What is a Cenote ?

A cenote is a sinkhole with exposed rocky edges containing groundwater. It is typically found in the Yucatán Peninsula and some nearby Caribbean islands. The term is derived from a word used by the low-land Yucatec Maya to refer to any location where groundwater is accessible. ( source: Wikipedia )

Hi Robert

Your POV shows the height well, and the people swimming show the scale of the drop.
A good shot taken in difficult conditions.

Hi Robert,
Amazing scene! The water looks so blue and refreshing! Would love to take a dip in there, good to see people using it. Your note really helps us to understand this photo, the presentation works well here - nice work. I'd love to give you 2-points but I'm all out of smileys for the day sorry :(.

TFS,
Scott.

Hi Robert,

Impressive pictures you have of Mexico, makes me wanna visit....fast!

As a scuba diver myself I've heard about these cenoties, how weird it is to go for a dive in the heart of the jungle....must be real fun.

I like the way you managed to capture the wall of the cenotie and the incredible colour of the water. The hanging roots give it an unreal feel to it all.

Great capture, my compliments, hope you have more coming up!

Hi Robert,

I like the other one too... I can't get over how intense the blue color appears. It's almost magical. The vines from the trees add vertical lines almost giving it a very modern, abstract look. Quite interesting. Did you swim in this? Looks refreshing. :) Lisa

Hi Robert...fantastic light and tones..excellent work...

Roger

Amazing colors and amazing place. Smart use of frame to emphasize the strong colors.

Robert

Beautiful shot - what a rich colour... Good job with very difficult light conditions too.

Vertical format shows the environment to its' best extent.

DAvid

This is a beauty too Robert. Love that we're able to see the vertical height of this spot. The people up there really give a sense for the scale, of course. Love the hanging vines and the spots of sunlight, and the aqua color of that water ... looks so inviting.
Great job
Trudy

Bonjour Robert,
Splendide vue!

Caio roberto. Fabouloise light and great colours. Perfect sharp for an amazing atmosphere.
