True-wind direction is different from apparent-wind direction. The true-wind is the direction of the wind which makes the waves. The true-wind is perpendicular to the waves.

Hi Jessica,
you obtained very interesting shot using so long exposure time. Contrast between still part of the shot and moving in the wind objects tells very well about the weather at that moment. I like the blur you created with exposure. tfs
