[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
There are many types of meditation, but one definition that fits almost all types is..."Consciously directing your attention to alter your state of consciousness."

Elemental earth stands at the South in many pagan rituals in the southern hemisphere, associated with the winter solstice and with midnight. Its symbol is the pentagram, its colors the brown and rust-orange of humus, the green of vegetation, the black of night, the white of snow. Earth corresponds to the magickal power to keep silent, to protect vows and easily misunderstood knowledge with shut lips. At Imbolc, we meditated on fire, at Oestara on water; at Beltaine, earth appears at the third station of this wheel.
Earth manifests. Nothing we work in magick comes completely true until it hits earth, the element of solid matter. Earth steadies; through earth we push our grounding cords. But don't take what I write as dogma. The most important associations are the ones we make ourselves, our own personal relationship with each element. To know earth better, meditate upon it.

I decided to create this photo as if the sea were the earth so I used PSP to create the form of earth (more rounded than geoidal) in the same form we see the earth from space...(kinda)
the blue marble
Will love to hear your comments.
In the workshop I'll post the original :)
Regards
Jessica

Hi Jessica,

I'm wondering why you decided to create the earth's rounding. Personally, I do think the picture would have been better without, or with a little bit less. I mean, if this would be actually the rounding of the earth, the whole size of the earth would roughly be 750 metres in diameter :-). It's just a bit too much for me, but I do like the experimenting as such since it's always good to look a bit further and try new things.

Have a good weekend!
Dennis

Checked out the original in the WS and it is well done but not special. This one after the PP is quite spectacular. My first guess was maybe a fisheye. Wrong there. Fits the title and the notes. TFS
