[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Goddess of the Cocoa: Craft, technique: painting with threads.
Quetzalcóatl gave to the toltecas the gift of a plant that had stolen to the gods, its siblings who kept it zealously, because of her they obtained a drink that, dedicated alone to the gods. Quetzalcóatl sustrajo the small bush of red flowers, fastened to long branches of lengthened leaves, bowed toward the earth, to which offered their dark fruits. It planted in the fields of Tula the arbolito and he requested to Tláloc that fed him with the rain, and to Xochiquetzal that adorned it with flowers. The sapling gave its fruits and Quetzalcóatl it picked up the sheaths, he made toast the fruit, he taught to mill it to the women that followed the works of the men, and to beat it with water in the cups, obtaining this way the chocolate that in the principle the priests and the noblemen only took.

This image corresponds to an exhibition of art of the handiworks, elaborated by Mrs. Josefina González Zarza, specially carried out in fabric and embroidery, this technique is called: "Painting with Threads." This handiwork is rich in colors and it combines textures, oil, pastas, ceramic.

A very interesting story about the history of cocoa. The artwork is very good also, too bad that the hand and arm seem to be out of focus. I tried to correct this, without success in a workshop. For me, just as a personal taste, I don't like the yellow frame, so I changed that too in the workshop. Hope you like it.
