This is the Kukulkan pyramid in Chichen-Itza.

Amazing place.

Dominating the center of Chichén is the Temple of Kukulkan (the Maya name for Quetzalcoatl), often referred to as "El Castillo" (the castle). This step pyramid has a ground plan of square terraces with stairways up each of the 4 sides to the temple on top. On the Spring and Fall equinox, at the rising and setting of the sun, the corner of the structure casts a shadow in the shape of a plumed serpent - Kukulcan, or Quetzalcoatl - along the side of the North staircase. On these two days, the shadows from the corner tiers slither down the northern side of the pyramid with the sun's movement. Text: Wikipedia.

Bonjour Pierre
J'adore lire ce que les gens ont a donner comme histoire de leur photo et celle ci ne nous laisse pas indifferent.
Interessant l'ombre du serpent.
Tres belle ta capture.Les marches ont l'air invitante mais surtout essouflantes.
Merci d'avoir partage.

Hola Pierre.
Un encuadre magnífico.
Bellos detalles y excepcional nitidez.
Un cordial saludo, JL.

Amazing detail you captured in the pyramid Pierre. An excellent POV with good perspective> I see one comment regarding the sky, Fran King (sugah_bear69) did a trip down that way and the colours from her Olympus were much the same. TFS,
David

Hi Pierre
Real interesting capture, good POV - you are showing this magnificent building very well. Well taken.
Greetings
Jens.

Yes, truly an amazing structure! The pre-columbian era is a fascinating field to study.
Must have been a wonderful holiday ....
Cheers
Otto

Merci.

Hoi Piet,
Missed this one (stupid) Great memories. In 1998 I stood on top of this pyramid. Going up wasn't the point...going down how steep! Boy I still can't remember how I did that. Did you went up? Anyway you captured the imposing building on a very clear way. A fine memory for you and me :-)
