Cueva de la Sardina
This picture is of the roof of the Grotto in the one that its interior a stream of sulphurous waters runs, where the ' Domingo of Ramos', takes place the prehispanic ritual of origin Zoque of the Fishing of the Sardine, call: the Ritual of the Fishing of the Blind Sardine: this tradition believes a connection of religiosity between the individual and the nature, allowing the interaction with the ancestors to value the environment in the Cave of the Sardine, here, the participation of the citizens is motivated in this ritual and he/she is carried out an intense recovery work and conservation.
The patriarch, the priestess and the town in general will carry out the offer to the four cardinal points to begin the procession of the lined one of the barbasco. In the entrance of the cave of the sardine, it will begin the ritual: the old men request permission in language zoque and they offer offerings (flowers, candles, incensario); the town enters to deposit the barbasco and later to begin the fishing with the prepared baskets for that end. Once finished the fishing, the assistants thank for the food in the outskirts of the cave saying goodbye to the sacred place and retiring the procession.
It is interesting the effect obtained in this picture, since the only source of natural light comes from the hole, (the green light of more proportion in the superior part)

Hello Ninfa, what a very mesmerising and intriguing image. I really enjoy the way the light comes in from the top, and filters down the side of the walls, the colours are very nice and soft, I like the grain and the slight blur, gives it a mystical, as well as spiritual feel to it.
Well done Ninfa, your note is very informative.
