[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This photograph was taken from the mid-level tier of the pyramid of the moon looking out towards the southeast and the pyramid of the sun in the background in the ancient city of Teotihuacan ("The Place Where Men Become Gods").

The site occupies about 8 square miles and, with 200,000 inhabitants at its peak (300 AD - 650 AD), was the largest city in the world even after its demise around 750 AD.

Teotihuacan predates the Aztecs, who upon arriving at the site around 1250 declared it as "the place where men become gods". It lies about 35 miles northeast of Mexico City.

Recently, 15 bodies were discovered in the Pyramid of the Moon; 12 which had been decapitated. Archeologist still know very little of the people, the religion and the history of Teotihuacan.
