the same tulips as yesterday believe it or not but from a different angle.. it's always interesting how different light and exposure settings can pick out tones unseen to the human eye.. these tulips in life are very red like in the last picture but there was something so soft and delicate about this pale pink that i didn't want to change anything..

this was a product once again of playing with crops until something i liked jumped out at me.. and i found the sensual curves and layers and delicate shadow play of these soft petals enchanting so i wanted to use them.. there's something so wonderful about the surface of a petal.. so soft and silky and when you look close you can see all of it's fine lines and gentle textures... caressing a petal is like caressing your lovers face... this sensation touched me inside...

the almost flesh like sensuous curves yet pure and innocent feel of this shot reminded me of poem.. poetry is one of my greatest passions.. so i chose the title from a line of a poem called 'Eros' by Robert Bridges..

'Surely thy body is thy mind
For in thy face is nought to find
Only thy soft unchristen'd smile
That shadows neither love nor guile
But shameless will and power immense
In secret sensuous innocence'

not quite a homage to the more suggestive imagery of Georgia O'Keeffe.. but if you see that too it's fine by me! ihih :)

***

shot with high exposure in macro mode about 12 inches away, without flash or artificial light, only the general light of the room in daytime plus an extra narrow source of daylight from the window on the left to create some gentle shadows

very little done here other than the cropping and resizing
i cloned out a few specks of dust that inevitably show up on such macros
one thing i did do was sharpen slightly before a final resize.. this way it reduces the loss in sharpness resizing can bring but keeps the texture very soft and subtle.. i wanted to leave this pure feel.. so i did nothing else apart from framing & signing

i really hope you like this and many thanks for all your kind comments on my photos :)

I can't help but to smile Ayda. Today i have taken lots and lots of pictures of flowers. I went downtown to bye them after work, for an idea that i had. I have just finnished it. It is along time since i have spent so much time with one image. Your flower is beautifull Ayda. Close to abstraction because you your close distance as well as your crop. A lovley structure as well, and also a nice colour. Your words are beautifull, like caressing a lovers face...mmm, beautiful.

Indeed beautiful,Ayda!
Lovely colors with a great contrast, nicely played with light, and what a fine details!
for me,it's poetic, warm and lively, too, well worked and texture and lines are excellent in this composition,Thanks for posting it,Ayda,I enjoy the shot very much.
Sincerely
M

Very secret, very sensuous and very amazing photo. On a freezing day here in Moscow it was a wonderful image to come upon. It is indeed like O'Keefe!

What a beautiful picture, has everything that can possible be on it. It reminds me of something else and rather not very appropriate, just the colour and shapes its amazing what the mind can relate shapes and objects.. Thank you for the very detailed not, I only whish to remember what I do in my pictures to write notes like you do. Thank you for sharing and I am always looking forward to your future work.

Very nicely done. There's a lot of softness in the light, and your frame really enhances the composition. Great job!

Bonjour Ayda!
