A classic, very pensive portrait, the B&W catches and enhances the mood, very well done.

Great photo. Wellcomposed and good light. The frame has to go. Simpler is better.

Yes, classic documentary.
The frame works very well imho.

Hello (again) Joe,
Another poignant documentary photo...
I like how this old soldier is looking at the border of the image, at something that is "out there". It somehow symbolizes the fact that he did not have much to expect anymore from the earthly world. Physically, he still is with us, but mentally, he already is elsewhere. Good composition to underline that...
Your PP-work (frame) is more discreet and appropriate than in your previous post, but like Leica, I think it still is too much. Either no frame or an exterior frame.
TFS & kind regards,
Erik

Hey Papajoe
Maybe just looking at the world that he was apart of for so many years. To have time to make peace and reconcile your life before you go could be priceless. He is part of the greatest generation. I work at the airport here in Nashville. I thank them for serving when I see them. Not to many left my friend. I always try to remember that behind there old military hats and medals, they are all Fathers, Sons, Uncles, and Brothers. I too served in the Military and know the brotherhood that is unexplainable. So when I look out my window in my final days if given the chance. I too will reconcile and hope that my life will be a job well done. Wonderful capture of his final days Papajoe
God Bless

WOW! I love this! This is a prime example of emotion being the MAIN thing in a photo. Technically it's not perfect, who cares? It's film, I absolutely LOVE it. You get an award for this. This is what photography is about IMO. Love the grain, love the expression on his face, looking out the window, stretched across the bed. Killer shot, this photo should have WAY more attention.

Absolutely amazing! What a great capture of this pondering solder. He may have been quiet, but this photo speaks volumes. I'm amazed with your frame. I can learn a lot from you!
