Away from the hustle and bustle of the image from the same day as "Chicago Concrete Beach". I moved a little further north on the beach to find some sand versus the concrete beach. I found this serene little scene with a mother and daughter taking a quiet stroll along the sand with the Chicago skyline in the background. Thanks for viewing.

Camera: Nikon F2. Lens 35mm Nikkor. Film: Ektachrome 100 ASA.

For such a big city these just seems so unpopulated!!! Well seen here Joe - nice compo especially with them looking away so we have no idea who they are..

Good scan again.. I always used Fuji for slides.

Hi Joe,
A nicely composed and peaceful capture of this woman and child having a stroll in this Chicago beach.
Solely facing the Concrete skyline in a soft ambience.
Nice reflection in the puddle infront of the couple.
Good lighting!
Best regards,

Francis Xavier

Hi Joe,

The contrast between big city and serene beach is well captured here. Composition is superb. I've recently been doing some work with scans of old photos, and it's really difficult to get the "sharpness" factor right. One other thing that hasn't been mentioned is that there is a visual correlation between the long legs of the woman and the tall buildings in the background. Nice work.

Best regards,
Werner

Hi Joe,

I see that the clouds are very defined in the BG. I recently took a photo, but did not have a polarizing filter on the lens. Is this what made the clouds defined, or your skill? :) The filter I have is a cheap one too. Can you recommend a good one, and should I use it all the time?

Nice photo!

Hey Papajoe

kind a neat to see the city with no one on the beach. A very interesting image. Looks like it could be on the cover of LIFE. Nice work

Ahhh knawing my leg here! LOVE this stuff...LOVE film, love the look of it! The feel of it! Excellent work Joe! Always love to see your film work! I'm still hacking it out, trying to get back in the swing of film, having to "think" instead of point and shoot! Would love to see more of your work. Do you have a website?
