~The Singer and a Mannequin~
The Story
This is a scanned image from about somwhere around 1997, I believe (A cheap vivitar 35mm camera and a $90 scanner).
The girl/woman in the image is a friend of mine I have not seen in many many years. However, she does live here in Florida now. This photo was taken back in the days of living in Indiana.
She was the lead singer in a group called Tongue Tied Theresa, who were good friends of mine.
The Point
We went out one day just to take some random band photos for fun. After being at a park for awhile we went to load up(brought some props). As I opend the back of the van I had forgotten about the mannequin we brought with us. This was a fun group to be creative with on many different levels. Anyway, upon opening the back of the van the sunlight just came in and was striking our mannequin in a noticeable manner. I asked the girl if she would get in the back and lay down posing with the mannequin...well sure enough she did and I've loved this image every since I had the roll developed. Technically not perfect at all but for me at the time and now... it is a great memory of the times we had being creative and experimenting with music and art.
Michael
pp-scanned a while ago and cleaned up as best as I could. Some cloning of dust particles and some sharpening. Added frame and signature.
Workshop
If you could check out the Workshop and let me know which image you like better I would much appreciate this and your time. I again would like to thank David(ADAMSKI)for the WS suggestion. I must be out of it today, for the b/w idea I had but not the desat and recolor. Been sick for most of the week and on medicine. Thinking clearly is not the case this week.
Thanks Michael |

Hi Michael.
Very interesting composition.
I like the position of all parts.
A nice framing and a very good game of light
The dark ground give a good contrast with this white mannequin
Nice scan, good result.
Fred
Unusual and intriguing,I just wonder if it would be worth desaturating the girls face and arm to mirror the paleness of the manequin.Even a black and white version might work.
That lady is cruel! How can she do that to that poor mannequin....
Ok i know... she were jalous about her dress!
I like the action! Well see!
lighting made this photo a magnificent art work, where the lady blends in with the mannequin. your pp work was flawless:) the torn off hand and the face of the mannequin gave a bit of twist to the feeling of the photo. nice work!
exellente compositionthe mannequin and girl!
good shoot!
bye....tanbinh.
