[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
For my Romanian friend Oana.

This is not one of my art form collections, but I know the name of this one; it's a Virgin Palm.

I like white flowers, but what I liked about this one is that the light inside the green house was shinning on the back side of the flower.

Auto adjust was the only correction before copying into this background. I do not have a macro lens; I think the f-stop was 5.0 on this one. They also would not let me use a tripod in the green house. I know it could be much better.

HELP NEEDED: I'd like to learn how the fade the black background into the flower. I think the angle of the flower and the back light evident on one side would make this a good test case. I'd like to see the right side faded into the background. Does anyone want to do a workshop?

Hi Dennis,
I have no knowledge on how to fade apart from when you cut the flower select feather and then the pixel range, I believe this will give a fade effect, failing that a creative hand with the burn tool. Great shot as is tho I do like the out of frame technique. TFS

Hi Dennis,

Sorry, but I can't help with the fading. I actually like the backlighting as is. Backlighting in flowers and butterflies always makes for a nice shot. One thing I'd recommend is to not crop the bottom leaf and maybe leave a bit of breathing space below it. Nice gift to Oana!
