Mail Pouch Barn
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| "Mail Pouch Tobacco", the company, had a very inventive advertising strategy dating back to the 1930's. They paid farmers to let them advertise on their barns, and included their logo and a paint job, always red, to boot. You could see these "Mail Pouch" barns all over the southern part of the United States, and still can, on a very limited basis. This barn, near Lanesville, Indiana on U.S. 62, is kept up by the city of Lanesville and retains the original red and yellow paint job that Mail Pouch originally offered. It is registered as an historic land marker. |

salut joe
j'a pas bien compris ce que c'est mais je dois dire que la couleurs rouge de ce batiment sur le fond vert de la prairie est magnifique, tu ajoutes à cela les couleurs automnales des arbres du fond et on a une palette de toutes les couleurs
magnifique
Joe,
Growing up in the Midwest, particularly the Saint Louis area, Mail Pouch Tobacco signs are very familiar to me.
Here's you've got great saturation levels and although slightly centered-wonderful composition. I don't completely like the out of focus leaves on the top left but I get your intention of natural framing. It's a great idea but because they protrude onto the subject, it's probably just a little too much. I'd also have cloned out the clump on the bottom left of the photo. Regardless, I'd give this a pretty high score....I love it! Keep up the good work, Joe!
