I know there aren't many golfers in TL land, but I like it. I had my friend putt the ball. As it was going in the hole I captured this shot with the logo visible. It's my favorite ball to play. I added the blur around the subject to reflect the action of the moment. I wish the logo could have been more in focus. I lost a better photo. Somehow it just wouldn't open. I don't understand. It's different, but I hope you can appreciate it. Thanks for viewing.

I found a flower with a bug on it in my archives. I'll post it tomorrow. It's my first. Just maybe you'll like it.

Hi Denis

grate green and pp work
but honest looking at it almost hypnotized me :)
was nice if the ball was in focus , BUT always is a BUT this is my opinion
and about breaking the barrier you need lot of work to improve your shots to can catch the attention
you should be interested more by this not the points
is nothing to win here unless wonderful friends and good advices which can help you
don t take it as a bad remark take it in a friendship way
Kind regards and a grate day!

Hi Dennis,

I like your picture. Interesting subject pictures and especially playing it. Colors and exceptional achievement, congratulations.
Best regards,
Adrian

Hi Dennis,

I have to agree with Oana, the pp work is interesting, but plays tricks on the eyes. As far as focus goes, yes it should be a bit sharper. When I first got my DSLR I had a lot of difficulty with that too. I practiced and practiced until I got better, plus I found that I needed to understand how DOF is affected by focal length, aperture and distance to subject. This is really important when you shoot bugs on flowers ;)

First, I recommend that you set the focus mode on your camera to single point. The 11 point system doesn't always get the item you want in perfect focus.

For this shot I would try a slower shutter speed (maybe 1/500 or even 1/250) and a smaller aperture to increase the DOF. You could even bump up the ISO to 800 or so to keep a fast shutter and smaller aperture.

By the way, I like golf. Does putt-putt count?

Regards,
Werner

Genial efecto en el que da la sensacion de movimiento
felicidades
Buen trabajo
un saludo

hello Dennis .. good capture .. with nice timing .. well done Harout.

Hi Dennis,
this reminds me of that famous shot by Tiger at the 16th on Augusta when the the ball teetered on the edge with the Nike logo showing and then dropped into the hole.
The timing of this shot and the position of the ball is spot on but I am not that keen on the radial blur. You have to pre-focus these shots on the position where you expect the ball to be.
Anyway you have inspired me to try and take that impact shot again
cheers and keep shooting
Jack

Great decisive moment , Congratulation

NOT YET! It's hanging in space which sometimes golf balls tend to do, and then rim the cup and lip out. Had too many of them. Good shot!!!

Well, Dennis, I guess we simply expect the golf ball to be pin-sharp in this kind of shots. It is the focus point of your picture, isn't it? Said this, I cannot tell you how to get it sharper "in camera". Did you use the panning technique for this one? Not always easy to move the camera at the same speed as the object.
Besides that, I like the post-processing you did. It appropriately enhances the action you captured.
Definitely more interesting than a flower-with-bug-picture. Hope you will resist the temptation ;o).
TFS & kind regards,
Erik

Hello Dennis!
