Let me explain. At times, it’s been very difficult for me to open the box securing my feelings (represented in this photo). They’ve been well protected in the locked box (represented by the oversized, very old lock), especially when I thought the key had been long lost. This is common with men. We like to be in control, especially of our emotions. My friends on TL (represented by the red key) have been the key to unlocking the ability to express myself in art-form even with the looming condemnation and rejection that comes with exposure. Special thanks to Werner and PapaJoe for helping me so much!

On the photo, I like the symbolic concept, sepia toned background mixed with the colored focal points. The lock was not colored to make its value less important; however, its size is intended to reflect over barring power. It's age reflects the long-term battle.

Sorry it's not a flower with a bug on it.

I hope you have a great weekend!

Hi Dennis,

Thank you for your note of thanks, and I'm happy to help where I can. The symbolism you've expressed is very real and I'm sure most men can identify with it. When I first met you on TL you were going through a very difficult time, and I'm sure you still are. I was able to identify with your feelings because of what happened to me back in 2007, and to be honest I'm still somewhat of a raw nerve. Last year I had another somewhat peculiar loss that told me never to put off until tomorrow what you can do today. That pushed me back into photography where I can at least explore my artistic side.

That being said, we all have friends and aquaintances who help us along our jouney here on earth, and I'm glad to consider you among my friends.

Have a great weekend!

Werner

Dennis, how can I say anything negative about this post since you blew my head to a bigger size? I really like the "pop art" effect with all the personal messages about the locked box and key. The sepia tone effect is totally perfect with the past two images of your gallery in the box, which I'm sure represents the genre and artistic side of the photographic arts that you prefer. Great collage with wonderful and heart felt notes!
