[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Indian Creek runs into and out of Lamb Lake. This is at the bottom of the waterfall. We had a dry period for a few weeks, so there wasn't much water flowing. At times, I'd seen the falls so rapid that I couldn't get close to it.

The one sec. shutter speed was to make what little water was flowing yield a soft look. Not much wind was blowing down in this area. If it's not very focused, I did something wrong.

The DOF did not come out as obvious as I would have liked. I like the warm color and winding water flow. I used a sepia filter on the lens, so that may have attributed to the warm look, and the f32.

I hope you like it, but even more I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!

Bom dia Denis
Very well composed this photo...love the colours...it seems so real. Because autumn colours are very appellative I look them, sometimes, very satured but not here. Very well worked.
A tribute to nature and autumn.
My regards
teresat

Hi Dennis,
Nicely seen- again a good POV. You've managed your settings well to create a good warm autumn feel. Your framing compliments with the tree branches. Nice job and TFS Julie

Hi Dennis,

A really nice fall shot of the creek. The slow shutter speed softened the water nicely and didn't affect the sharpness. Great POV and framing. Hope your Tuesday is wonderful too.

Best regards,
Werner

Hola Dennis:

Hi Dennis,
Great PoV for this shot, the soft focus works and the colours are brilliant. Nice calm shot. TFS

Hello Dennis, your shots are all well composed the colors are ok but you seem to have an issue with sharpness. You have a great camera with IS,auto and manual focus etc. This shot would gain much if it were sharp.Hope you take this in the right spirit,Otto.

hello Dennis... very nice composition with so autumn colors :) well done nice place... tfs .. have a nice day Harout.

Dennis, another wonderful autumn scene. Keep working at it, pal. You'll get all your settings right. There are so many whistles and bells on these digital cameras it's very easy to forget the one that you shouldn't have.

Cheers, JoeGoff

Hi Dennis,
Another excellent photo, the sepia filter has cast a nice effect across the entire scene. Personally I think it could be a touch sharper, but your POV and exposure here are both top notch. The dead trees across the water add extra interest too. Once you get an ND8 filter you'll be able use long exposures without having such a deep DOF. Not that there's anything wrong with having a DOF of f/32, but you may find you have sharper shots with a lower DOF of say F16. Well done.

TFS,
Scott.

Dennis,

You have a great composition here. Not over saturated autumn colors and the right amount of light.

If you have a chance to go back there try a HDR exposure (5 to 7 exposures will do great) . I think it is the perfect spot for a HDR.

Cheers,

Wellington

HI Dennis
The earthy colors of fall are always so pleasing to the eye
You did a great job with the composition and I think I know why you were not happy with the results.

If you use the zoom on your D90 try to use the optical zoom as far as you can, but try and avoid the digital, especially if you do not have a tripod, it has tendency to blur the dof.
