[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We had some fantastic cloud formations developing, when this storm just come up on us. As people were headed for the storm shelters, I headed for the camera. Crazy but exciting to say the least. Setting the camera up on a tripod this storm was coming out of the east. What went though my mind was I will catch what I catch.
A fellow worker after seeing this picture said " I tell my kids that if the you can see the lightning the you could be struck by it".
Next sentence was, I would really like a copy.

i always wondered if i can be ready at the right time to capture a scene like this, with no luck so far! this is an amazing thunder shot. very sharp and clear. well done! i specially like the three lights in front of the building.

Hi Robert,
Great timing with very clear lightning bolts.
Well done,
Jako

Hai Robert,
This is a wonderful picture taken at the right time. It's amazing.
Gr. Jacqueline

The timing was perfect, would you believe two years back I captured one without using a tripod ( I have switch the engine off, rest the camera in a stable platform and prayed ). It was a great moment right?

One obvious problem the post lights trying to compete with the main subject the lightning. Could be minimize by photoshop, just be patient, cheers-JEFFREY.

I'm envious. I've tried for such photos but have been unlucky or unprepared. You've captures some interesting bolts. The exposure of the foreground looks quite good, except that the lights are rather overpowering. The exposure of the sky is pretty much perfect. I also found the large blackness above the image a little unbalanced with the patch below, perhaps a crop to even this up a bit might help.
