Another shot using my Hoya R72 Infrared filter.

Levels adjusted in Photoshop. I also used a bit of strategic dodging and burning.

I was looking to acheive a sort of sci-fi feel with this image.

Thanks for viewing.

This place looks very ominous and depressing, but also beautiful in its own way. I like the colour of the photo, and the composition has filled every bit of the picture with something interesting and dynamic. Good work!

Hi Steven,
You certainly achieved that 'sci-fi' feel here. The barren whit landscape looks almost like the lunar surfaces we see in films. Great contrast between the dark sky and lighter foreground, and pleasing general composition.
Very well done and tfs,
Jako

Hello Steven,
Hihi, yes: It has got sci-fi feeling. The grey tones are beautiful...
I love this picture.

Overkill you got the sci fi effect but you eliminated some of the starknes.

What a coincidence - I post my first IR shot here, then look to see what else has been posted out of Michigan, and here's another Hoya R72 pic!

Good composition; the vertical lines of the pipes give a nice sense of stability to the image, and the diagonals balance it with a bit of dynamism. Also, you definitely captured the sci-fi feel. :)

How did you tone this, btw? It looks mildly toned, but I can't tell how. Might just be my monitor, though.

Hi Steven,

Wonderful B&W! The details are great and love the sharpness! Nice POV and lighting!
Well done!
