[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was testing the macro shots and here is another tulip during early morning. Yellow glow is from the sunlight and I don't want to remove that effect. I cut this portion from the big picture like my previous posting.

I welcome some suggestions to improve the sharpness while taking the picture. I have a 18-55 Canon lens for Rebel XT and the closest I could go is about a feet. The big picture had 3 flowers and I cut this out and get a closeup. I'm ok with this sharpness but not to the extent I want to see. I'd be happy to see some expert suggestions.

I don't know anything about your camera and its capabilities so I can't help there. I would like to know what photo edit programmes you have so that I can advise.
However - cropping heavily into an original and enlarging will inevitably lose quality. Compose in camera. There is always the choice of using regular lens settings to achieve a good macro effect yet by shooting from several feet away. It is always down to good focussing at the time of the shoot and, preferably NOT cropping but composing the final shot at the time of the click.
In PhotoFiltre, however, I was able to sharpen this by FOUR clicks. Unusually, some quality was retained. I also adjusted contrast, saturation, mid-tones/highlights, gamma until I was happy that I had some acceptable level of sharpness AND a good visual impact. Note that I did NOT crop any further. I did, however, add a suitale frame, as, on PC displays against a light background field, a dark frame is vital to help to combat the screen glare.
I will post this result later on today. Some seven hours to wait. OK?
