[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
In her old age, the family dog has become quite the cooperative subject. Not quite so spunky anymore, she's content to lie on the driveway and watch everyone else play.

Post-processing was curves in the raw converter, then a little sharpening followed by a simple bloom filter:

1) duplicate layer
2) blur by 8-12% of image size or so
3) set opacity to 20-50%

My goal here was to give it the "HS Senior Portrait" look; i.e. heavy on the bloom filter.

What a lovely looking dog, she looks very regal sitting there watching her family, my mother has a couple of old timers that manage to achieve that look as well. I think the DoF and sharpness of your dogs face is really good, but I'm left thinking that maybe a landscape shot showing the whole of the dog sitting in a relaxed state gazing off at whatever is going on in the distance would have also worked well.

Andrew

lovely portrait, a bit off the top would have made this even stronger, well done, thanx, M, (*_*)
