Christmas Houses

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Taken out the window of the tug drydocked on the roof of the St. Paul Science museum, this is a composite of two photos, one of of the houses, the other of the icicles. Both were present in the same window, couldn't get both in the same plane of focus. So my granddaughter, Kate, gave me my first lesson in layering images and I taught her how to make frames, a pleasantly cooperative afternoon.
ISO 400, the colors are accurate (snowing lightly which grayed them).
I wish all of you a very Merry Holiday Season and the best for next year. |

Hello Lois.
Here is a very nice shot.I like your PP work, colours, compo, sharpness, details, light, the frame and the font.
Really well done.
Regards and merry Xmas... Francesco
Concept good. 'BITS OF BIKES' is going to be hard to beat, eh?
If it were me, I'd have stretched the truth hugely on this one. I can't do it as a WS so I'll describe best I can
I would have had the icicle/s dominating the frame, filling the scene more, and made even more dominant by over-sharpening (or similar) to bring out the detail therein and thereon. The background I would have slightly blurred - depends on the effect of the icicle boost. Also, an idea, I would have looked at increasing the blue content of the icicle. Also, duplicate and flip the icicle and add.
No comment on the frame means that it was a good job ...
No awards left but I will return. I always do.
Now go to TOOZ KUMPANEE and tell me that the sky should have been cropped out.
excellent! I love b w combinations with color, super card, merry xmas to you and your family also.
Christine.
Hi! Lois,
A bit late getting to this beauty, but maybe usefull next year.
Some people are already collecting their nick nacks for Xmas 2006, so don't feel out in anyway. I wanted to do a Ws on your Silhouette of People but ran out of credits.
I just love this scene and I might have removed the alien building altogether and the icicle, come to that/or-and duplicated the icicle/s to make them a feature at different scales, flipping horiz' and such. Anyway see my WS and let me know. St.Paul is as I imagined a beautifull place. I have distant friends there but never got to visit.
Houses to die for!! Yummy:)
Sorry I was late!
Mike.
Lovely shot and`composition Lois!
You are right they look like Christmas houses.
Different colors, and`the addition of the icicles a plus too.
Good cooperation resulted in a winning shot.
Smilies to both!
Well done!
Robert
