[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I empathize with her, poor dear. I'm sure I had the same expression on some days when my children were small and I had to take them somewhere, wiggling and squirming.

Personal details: Her name is Patty, they are white-faced Saki monkeys and they live at the St Paul Como Zoo. Children are not named yet. I imagine there will be a contest to name them so I propose Recon for the one on her shoulder (as in over the hill and into everything) and Violet for the one hanging on underneath (as in shrinking).

I debated putting this in the Genre People or the Genre Places, and came down for People, anthropomorphism, you know. She certainly isn't a place!

ISO 3200, focal length 210.0 mm, photographed through plexiglass window. Couldn't figure out how to get rid of the graininess, unsharp mask didn't do what I wanted it to, so emphasized graininess by using film grain in Photoshop Elements (see, kit, it's not sharp on purpose!), also played with the balance and color to make the photo more sepia and brighter than it was originally. I did a crop to just the monkeys but preferred this one as it gives a sense of Patty's motion (going somewhere, over the hill...).

I sure know the feeling... and the wiggle even when you'd think they have grown up considerably... the one exception is that you have to haul their butts to impossible places at impossible times of the day... ;) Family is fun, isn't it?

Plexiglass combined with low zoo lights is a tough thing for a photographer. Technically, here the problem is not sharpness or grain but the lack of detail. The pic, I'm afraid, wouldn't say much w/o the note.

Look forward to your upcoming posts! I have some lined up... :)

As me old pal AT so rightly says, this one needs quality detail. It's scary enough for a public warning before looking but would be MUCH scarier (and interesting) if it were a close up where you could see the white (reds?) of the eyes. Not easy, I can imagine, under the circumstances. See SuffolkAngel's toucan for inspiration. Also taken at a zoo.
Can't even give a any kind of medal - all gone.
I will, however, return later in this day.
WS? Boatmen? Still in shock?
