Since it was so hot & humid today I thought I'd put up a refreshing picture of icicles! This was taken back in Janurary 2002 when KC had its bad ice storm.
(Pentax K1000 with 50mm lens)

wow... what can i say this picture is amazing!

This was so great to see!! I love the whole picture!

I remember eating those things when I was a kid. I'm trying to figure out what the half circle is on the bottom? Pretty wicked lookin cicles.

Very nice picture Stephanie,
I love this mix of colors:
* the cold blue in the ice
* the warm yellow-orange of the surrounding light
it makes an awesome contrast of opposite colors.

Ouf, j'ai eu peur! J’ai cru que c'était de la bave d'aliens. Ca rafraîchit un peu cette glace, belle prise.

The icicles with the sunset in the background is an interesting conbination. The colours are nice and the icicles reflect the colours well. I think the composition might have been better if you had included the top of the branches where the icicles start. Just a thought!! Well done.

I have always wanted to take a photo like this with some view behind the icicles but it never really materialized
I would say that you have a very good picture over here ... the colours are very good and your POV is awesome ... thanks for sharing .. cheers .. sarju

Awesome shot Stephanie. Thanks for cooling me down. It's been 100c degrees around here for the last few days. I just want to break one off and start licking. I like the way the sun is reflecting through the ice. The colours are great. I thought the image could do with a bit of sharpening, so I did a workshop.

Interesting mix of color. I like the approach that Diana took on the levels and sharpening method, i should copy that down to try out. It really enhances an already fine shot. TFS.
