While I was walking through the timber, I suddenly came upon this strange animal. I hurried and snapped a quick shot. Actually, I went to the St Louis Zoo this summer, and found a lot of interesting animals. Shown here is a bird I'm quite sure from Costa Rica. You may correct me if you know for sure what it is. :)
Any suggestions are welcome. The oversharpness is probably caused by the "Paint" program that every computer has.

Hello Leanne,
Since when does the midwest have "Timber"? LOL!!!
Good to see you back. I do not know the name of this bird but it is a beautiful species in itself. An excellent shot at such a quick moment to decide to shoot.
Well Done...
I hope you have a great holiday season and especially the next year...
Steve
Hi Leanne,
Nice shot of this Crane, good colours and position, a shame about the bits of bush in the foreground though.
Hope your well
Regards Andy

Hello Leanne
A beautiful shot of the crowned crane. ( I always thought it was called a Mahem but read more about the bird a while ago) This is a lovely bird that I also like to photograph and get some opportunities for sat a local bird sanctuary. A nice composition too
