Orchids II
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Here is the second in my Orchids series for this week. While they aren't as dramatic as rintile's latest orchids, I think they turned out pretty nice.
I was experimenting with the internal camera settings when I shot these, the D300 was in Vivid mode with the saturation cranked up to about the 5th bar, sharpening to about the middle. Very little post processing was performed on this, just cropping, adding the frame, sharpening a bit and saving in PS CS2.
I hope it helps to saturate your day with color! |

Hello Reed,
Thanks for posting this photo. I would just like to make some personal observations which i think would help. I think the soft and tenderness of the shot has been overpowered with the cranked sharpning. There is considerable noise in the background. I like the composition of flowers covering the entire frame and the DOF adds to the mood but then again the color of the frame the the text distracts, i just wish that it was much less saturated than the flowers itself. These are very personal observations and not necessarily correct. Caio. Neeraj

Hi Reed
Nice shot. Usually peoples try to isolate one flower, you did the opposite and it seems quite successfull. Perfect focus and exposure, beautifull framing and compostion. Nice compositon with few blank area to break the monotony of having the frame filled with flowers. Splendid image and TFS.

Beautiful flowers and nice frame. Im not sure if they oversharpened or oe but they do look a little larger than life. Maybe trying too hard but this is a personal observation. TFS
warm regards
