Happy Chocolate Easter Egg!
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I took this photograph last weekend when I went to the Crown Candy Kitchen to buy some Easter candy for my wife and mother-in-law. We always try to get down there before Easter, they make some wonderful goodies - it is like a pilgrimage for many in St. Louis. This is another place that is typical St. Louis, very traditional. Families take their children here for treats, and for many decades those children have taken their children. Now you can hardly get in the door on Sunday! I braved the line that Sunday morning to get my chocolate bunnies and some foil-wrapped truffle eggs. Regrettably, the eggs I got for my wife are already gone, I think they disappeared by Wednesday...
Crown Candy still makes their candy on-site, as you can see in their web site, they create treats for every holiday and you can go there any day of the week to enjoy an old-fashioned soda fountain type lunch or dinner. It's a neat place to visit.
This photograph was shot hand-held inside the store - they put a display out every holiday that sort of gets in the way of the vintage charm of the place, so I will have to go back one day when there is no holiday just to shoot inside. As far as post-processing, I equalized some shadows, removed a little noise, applied the frame, re-sized and saved for TL.
Have a fine day, no matter what you buy chocolate for! |
