[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Fourth of July Fireworks in St. Louis. This scene is the old courthouse in downtown St. Louis, a very old and historic building. The Gateway Arch in the backround stands 630 feet tall on the banks of the Mississippi River. The fireworks are coming of a barge in the river. This gives a sense of scale and size to the display of fireworks every year at Fair St. Louis.(3 days in a row) My fellow TrekLens member, and good friend, Scott Hale and I went down and captured some decent shots. I have this in a 16X20 print that looks pretty good. I do love long exposure night shots.

WOW... very impressive !!!..The shape of the fireworks and the Gateway Arch and Dome of the building all blend in well...Great Stuff...

I'll be your witness to how difficult this shot was. We had the old courthouse blocking 50% of the fireworks because they didn't go up high enough. We had a bunch of smoke to deal with and you still came up with this beauty!
To let everyone know, Scott actually sold this version of his 16x20, along with a very beautiful Saint Louis skyline shot at Coffee Talk Cafe in Edwardsville, Illinois. He has a gallery that makes our shop so beautiful. He's a fairly modest gentleman so I had to add info about the sale.
I have a few decent shots from the 100+ I took but NONE approaching this quality.
I had fun at this shoot and I look forward to doing more of this with you Scott.

This a great nightshot with amazing fireworks in the night sky. Excellent luminosity of the dom. One of the best 've seeing . Bravo.

Great shot! I am impressed that you got the right exposure to capture everything in this one. Not something me and my little pocket Canon can do... I am getting the itch for a dSLR in a bad way now.

Hi Scott,
I'm starting to think this is TN and they've just changed the green to blue, there are so many people here from TN! Nice shot here, perfect firework capture and well framed against the building. A tricky exposure to get the building and the fireworks right but this is spot-on. Very nice work my friend!
