...."3 in 1".. Dad's Flag !....

Please forgive me a personal theme presentation
this week.
****
These "3 in 1" images were taken on May 26, 2008,
Memorial Day in the United States and were taken
for our family.

This is my Dad's Flag, presented in this memory.
Every veteran has a flag flying, in their memory on
Memorial Day each year, at this cemetery.

Dad was called twice to serve his country. First
WW II in the United Kingdom and second in Korea.
The wars effected and changed many - many lives
forever, in this world, my families was no exception.
****

Thanks to Helen for the theme each week.

Thanks to everyone for looking in.
Larry

HI Larry
Proud you should be even if you feel its a personal posting.
Pride in the flag and more so for your father's contribution to his country. It is very appropriate for the theme and also for the 4th.
Very nice shots, all well taken.

Hi Larry, great choice for the Friday theme as well as your 4th.of July celebration of Independence day.Your pride for family & country is a pleasure to see.

Ron

Hi Larry,

I get choked up every time I hear the pledge or the National Anthem. You photo had the same result. Lovely tribute to the memory of your dad and others who sacrifice so much every day.

Bright, colorful, thought provoking photo. The flag flying at half staff really grabbed me.

Nicely done! Lisa

Helo Larry
Very good one with flags of your strong country
Good one for friday theme
Cheers,Braca

I love it Larry. My grand parents are US citizens. First it was availed my grandpa, he was one of the survivor of the "Death March" during WW2. He fought side by side with Americans. He died 4 years ago. But my grandma is still alive a US citizen also. That's why the flag of US is part of our lives. Thank you Larry for all your support. You are one of my true friend here.
Dennis

Hi Larry

Great addition to the theme!

Hello, Larry.

You are indeed forgiven - this is a wonderful presentation.

That seems a fantastically patriotic and moving celebration which you have on Memorial Day: I was not aware of the details and your note is very interesting and informative. I do get the impression that patriotism has survived a lot more in the U.S.A. than it has in Britain.

Thank you for sharing this one with us, Larry.

Best Wishes,

John.

Nothing like the old red, white and blue! A perfect posting for the theme AND 4th of July! Nice work Larry!
B-) B-)
Linda

Beautiful and emotional! All three images are very sharp and the colors are excellent! TFS and have a happy day!

A great theme entry, and good timing for the 4th of July holiday as well! I like your arrangement of the three images. Excellent work:)

Hello Larry

3 superb captures here my friend and you have shown 3 different POV of the theme scene which suits the theme perfectly.

A wonderful tribute to your father and a really excellent composition

TFS and for joining in the theme

kind regards Helen

howdy larry.
a very emotional image.
i am sure you are very proud of his achievements.

your friend,
Trampas.

ps.
this is for all my american friends:

'Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?'

have a great 4th of july.

Hi Larry:)
It doesn't matter that is personal, perhaps even better because you made stronger point in this presentation.
For sure you are proud of your Dad and this is great tribute for him.
On the other hand we have reflections about our life and this dark aspect witch is war.
Good job, congrats, Tom

Hi Larry,
My respect i salute this flag..because i'm working in uniform too..:)
Very nice capture and well arrange for the 3 in 1 picture.Nice detail and very good composition and POV..Great for the theme..Well done..

CM

Thanks for your kind words on "F/T 3 in 1".

Bonjour Larry,
workshop a beautiful tribute well touching and full of emotion.
The colors are nice and luminosity yet when you see the color of grey sky, is perfect. The flags flap to the wind makes the movement in your POV, to bow the courage of all veterans of all wars, men or women.
Best regards
Corinne

Hi Larry,
The flags proudly wave and remind me of the good America. I see that that this image has a personal meaning to you and that makes it even more special. Your artistic and technical interpretation of the theme is top notch. Best regards, Danilo

Hi Larry USA

very nice colors and sharpness
