I took some shots messing around with lighting in my room. I just posted to get some comments from everyone for improvements and such. Thanks

I like how this picture slowly contrasts. The light coming from the right fades to black as it goes across. Keep up the good work

Hi Ryan and welcome to TL! In this image, it appears you were going for a soft focus look. While the image is focused properly, the skin tones retain a soft or low contrast look. I suppose it depends upon what you are looking for in regards to lighting. While the right side has soft even light, the left side is dark. For my taste, a tad too dark. I think some shadow detail in the darkness would add some dimension to your image. I like your taking the risk to do a self portrait. They are more difficult than one initally thinks! I look forward to more of your work. B

Hi and Welcome to TL!
Quite an intriguing image! I love the contrast in this image, and the compositional value is very good. Looking forward to seeing more from you!

Hi Ryan,

I like the half shadow!

hey Ryan :-) great self portrait! the light is very good shadowing half the face yet retaining the detail in your right eye.. i also like the soft contrast you've acheived.. very nice job! ^_^
