I made this today to express religious intolerance, which has many, often overlooked faces. After an incident which occurred in a local church this year on Easter Sunday, I felt like I was, and have always been, on the other side of the fence.

The post processing was... well, I was sick this afternoon so I didn't mind spending a few hours on it. Basically, I had the original image of the fence and sky, which I converted to "infared" using an action someone posted on here (sorry, I forget who it was). From there, I just started playing around, and this is the final result.

Hope someone out there likes it.

powerful shot. good, interesting note. I understand what you're talking about, but, be careful. stay on the side of the fence you know you need to be on. That is, don't let "people" or "incidents" come between you and your God. Really great and moving image; I like it a LOT. your "playing around" has yielded wonderful results. regards, ck

Great shot
It has a bit of a gothic look to it, creepy but yet heavenly. The barbed wire ads mystery to the image, I like it a lot.
Well done Brian

This is a powerful image. The barbed wire both rips the image apart and brings it together as a frame. Excellent!

Hello Brian. Strong subject and an extraordinary association of images. Seems like a lost Paradise, after all this place where we all live called Earth. The fence is only a step into the real barrier between the viewer and the sky in which I see a form of freedom (whatever what freedom might be). Very good work.

interesting point of view.

It give me the impression the Anthechrist is arrived. Out the religion... Behind the fence. Words are innacessibles, prays will be scratching by the fence...

Very well seen and captured with a great message. B

Very impressive and powerful! I think that it makes a bold statement and does it very effectively without words. Religion is a very touchy subject with many people and seems to be the cause of a lot of suffering. I don't think that GOD intended for it to become what it has. A very good thing is a very dangerous thing in the minds and hands of even a few wrong powerful and influential people.

Hello Brian, WOW! What a very expressive image. The composition and pp work are outstanding. POV is also very interesting and dramatic with the sky in the background. Wonderful piece of art.
Kevin

good work :D

Très fort...
Je me sens aussi très souvent "du mauvais côté" de la clôture. Mais moi c'est parce que je suis une femme.
Bravo...
Nina

Great shot, I really like the mood you've created here in pp. Your low pov and placement of the fence in the foreground work very well, also the crop is very effective. This cap sort of reminds me of my "weathered in time" post over on trekearth. Well handled B&W conversion. A little more contrast would work well here though.
