Well, I had some trouble finding a hockey shot with good action, as I promised. I haven't been with the campus newspaper for long enough to throw my weight around and assign myself events - especially Fighting Sioux hockey.

I do have this football shot from earlier this season, however, which I like very much. University of Nebraska - Omaha quarterback Brian Masek throws a short pass in the fourth quarter vs. North Dakota, at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks this October.

UND lost to UNO 20-19, after leading by two touchdowns for most of the game. Turnovers on offense, and a missed field goal during the final seconds sealed the victory for the Mavericks. The atmosphere during this game was intense, as the North Dakota fans were used to seeing their team dominate at home throughout the season.

The Fighting Sioux ended their regular season with a record of 9-2, and were ousted from the playoffs by long standing rival Grand Valley State.

This photograph was also published in the UNO Gateway newspaper in Omaha, Nebraska. Taken with a Nikon D2H and a Sigma 70-200 f2.8 lens.

Nice action sports shot. Good DOF and great timing on the throw. I enjoy the overall composition as well. Thanks for sharing.
