To The People of Cincinnati
 |

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The is the "Genius of Water" sculpture that forms the centerpiece of Cincinnati's Fountain Square. The square has been the heart of the city center since 1871,
The fountain was donated to the people of Cincinnati by Henry Probasco in memory of his brother in law, Tyler Davidson. Probasco travelled to Munich where he commissioned the bronze allegorical fountain from Ferdinand von Mueller and the the Royal Bavarian Foundry, based on a design by Alexander von Kreling. Crowned by "The Genius of Water," its vivid imagery represents the uses of water, both natural and man-made, with narrative reliefs and charming individual figures.
I have been told that the inscription "to the people of Cincinnati" was so compelling to a young European visitor that she made the decision on the spot to move here. |

Hi, Greg!
As a native Cincinnatian, I never get tired of seeing this fountain! I haven't been downtown since the renovation but your photo has made me really want to go! I love how you've captured it at night!

Hi Greg,
Wonderful night shot of this fountain. I like the blurred person to the left of the fountain and the nice, soft water with it's golden color. You have succeded in capturing this without any blowout of the lights. I have the same camera and lens and love them both!
Great photo,
Darren
