[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a 400 year old Buttonwood (conocarpus erectus) tree. Also known as 'False Mangrove', the Buttonwood was named for its hard wood, which in the past was used to make buttons. Conocarpus erectus is an evergreen, Florida native. The Buttonwood appears quite similar to the Mangrove; the only noticable difference is that the leaves of the Buttonwood are alternating. The leaves are generally 2-8" in size, but can be trained to be much smaller. Being a Florida native, Buttonwoods will thrive in a warmer climate.
Taken at the Krohn Conservatory. PP radial zoom filter.

What an interesting and eye catching photo. And a very informative not. Great creatativity. 400years old for real?

Wow, what a way to direct the eye to the subject. I initially though you used the zoom lens, which would have distored the roots as well. I keep feeling as if I'm being drawn in, great effect.

yea...very catchy..great and nice PP skills... really nice effect..

Superbe idée cette impression de vitesse sur une plante âgée de 400 ans, symbole même de la patience et d'une certaine lenteur...

This is, with the radial motion filter, wonderful done, Greg, great effect, a fresh and green portrait in a fine light !

400 Years... I have a plant who grow more then that in just 1 month :o) It's not exactly the same! It's very well! The effect of radial motion is good on it!

Nice photo Greg. The filter effect, composition and colours all work together very well.

Greg, your effect here is outstanding. I never thought it would work on a plant but you have proven me wrong. Superb result, really nice and pleasent. Thanks

DAM

Great effect! Nice shot!

this picture is very wonderfull

L'effet est particulièrement bien réussi car la netteté de l'arbre est parfaitement gradée, il y a juste en bas à gauche et à droite du pot où c' est un peu bizarre.

This is an interesting shot with the PP. It brings the focus directly to the tree. Good job
