| the M/V American Republic is seen here transiting the Cuyahoga river in Cleveland, on its way to load more taconite pellets for a trip back up,, i was standing under the pilot house here, there is a very old i believe flour mill to the right, and forward a little bit is the Cleveland Flats. The turns arent so tight from here on out, just a little bit more untill the river goes into lake erie. This ship was built for all these turns so to the captain this is a piece of cake, being as he's been on this one ship for over 10 years and gone up and down this river most likely over a thousand times, being as this ship on a normal year does near 150 shuttles up and down this river, it is a very hardworking ship, as all the others are. |
