A Spire in Autumn's Cathedral

At lunch hour today I spotted and walked around this vibrant tree, trying various angles and perspectives. One experiment was flat on my back, looking skyward. That's when I saw the fractured cloud layer, which reminds me a bit of a stained-glass window effect. The POV seemed apt, too, for a tall, narrow, tree.
Post-processing was sizing, cropping out some utility wires and emphasizing the narrowness, slight sharpening, and also a wee bit of levels and curves corrections. I didn't go far down that road, however -- I was after realistic color more than highlighting every detail. |

Nice angle. Combination with the clouds seem surrealistic.
Very nice.
Wow, great photo. The angle you choosed to use is very interesting. The colors and synergy between tree and sky is beautifull.
Hope to see you on my gallery.
Greetz.

this is a surrealistic picture, love the atmosphere. You captured it perfectly and the POV is also excellent. Great Job!!!
Hi Jim,
A superb upward view of the striking tree with all its vivid fall colors. The clouds are most decorative and enhances the composition. You managed the exposure quite well inspite of the difficulty. My compliments...Danilo
